Age Concern welcomes new Mayor
to their AGM

On Wednesday 27th September at a gathering in the old chambers of Reigate and Banstead town hall Age Concern Merstham, Redhill & Reigate held it's 55th AGM. As a special guest the Deputy Mayor of Reigate & Banstead attended.
Discussions this year centred around the fantastic work done by the Chief Officer and all of the volunteers and staff to keep the great level of service going in such difficult times . It was also announced that Age Concern MRR would not join Age UK as full members but would adopt the 'friends of' Age UK option to protect and keep the local needs at the forefront of any services and fundraising available.
One area of concern raised at the gathering was the impending ASDA development plan which threatened to force the closure of the Redhill centre, but Chief Officer Mike ward stated "We are confident that the Council will negotiate a provision for Age Concern, CAB and the Help Shop if the plan is approved in the near future".

Help by giving local ... and make a difference

As your local Age Concern Centre we need to help the local community as we have done for the past 55 year. If you donate to Age UK or any other Age concern centre other than ours, the donation will not be spent on your local elderly and needy. One very good reason to donate to Age Concern Merstham, Redhill and Reigate!

GE Commercial Finance Redhill spruce things up

Thanks to our friends at GE Commercial Finance Redhill, Merstham Day Centre is bright and breezy with a hint of 'blue sky thinking' due to a new facelift and some colourful hand pained flowers, all done by the helpful GE volunteers. GE has also supplied new bollards to restrict the parking and make the centre safer place to visit. The centre was in serious need of a makeover so the wecome change has taken on a proper yet light hearted look!
A Big thanks to the GE team from us all.
Come along and see the changes
